The USDA has approved FREE meals to all students ages 0-18 through the 2021/2022 School Year!

Summer Food Service Information

Our weekly Meal Kit distribution will resume on Thursday, June 17th. Meal kits are available at NO COST to all children ages 0-18. Each meal kit will include 7 breakfasts, 7 lunches, a variety of fruits and vegetables, and a gallon of milk. We will not be taking Pre-Orders for meal kits.

    Meal Kits

    Meal Kit pick up will be held at Central Elementary on Thursday’s from 12:30 - 1:30 PM. Pick Up will happen inside the school in the cafeteria. There will be signage to guide you to the pick up area and we will have staff on hand to assist with larger orders.

    ***Pre-Orders for meal kits are NOT Required***

    As a reminder, students enrolled in Summer School at Central Elementary and children attending the Learning Center at Central Elementary are not eligible for these kits as they will have access to meals while attending their programming at Central.

      Summer Programming Meal Service

      Breakfast and Lunch will be provided for all students attending programming at Central Elementary school. Those menus can be found here: https://khps.nutrislice.com/

      In addition, we will be providing weekend bags containing 2 breakfasts and 2 lunches on Friday's to all interested students at Central Elementary.

      Additional Information for Families

      Free and Reduced Meal Benefits

      Families must reapply every year for Free and Reduced Meal Benefits. Meal benefits from the current year will expire on October 5, 2021. Families impacted by the pandemic are encouraged to apply as you may be eligible for benefits. Please fill out your application as soon as possible to ensure your students benefits are ready for the upcoming school year.

      Should I still complete a Free and Reduced Meal Benefits Application while lunches are free? Yes!

      • The USDA has approved free lunches through September 30, 2021. However, we would like all families to be prepared for when the program ends.
      • Families must fill out a new application every year. If you have not completed one for the 2021-22 school year, please do so as soon as possible. You can apply online through this link, and paper applications are available at each site.
      • Although meals are currently free to all students ages 0-18 it is incredibly important that you submit your application each year!

      Double Up Food Bucks

      Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB) is a program that partners with SNAP to provide FREE Michigan Fruits and Vegetables to Bridge Card users at participating markets. Please see the information below about this wonderful program.

      As we transition into this new school year, please know that Kenowa Hills Food and Nutrition Services is here and available to your families, whatever you may need. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. I am so happy to have joined the Knights and look forward to the upcoming school year!

      Allergies

      Your child’s health is extremely important to us. If your child has a food allergy, we will provide substitutions with a written order from a medical authority. Please contact Food Service at 784-0175.

      Secondary (6–12)
      $1.50 for breakfast
